DVR's allow you to instantly record your favorite shows without the need for video tapes or complex pre-programming. DVR's also allow you to pause and rewind live TV, meaning that you'll never miss an important scene or story again.

High-definition is another example of advanced satellite television. The Dish Network System is capable of broadcasting a select group of channels in high-definition, also known as "HD". HD programming is clearer and crisper, giving you the closest thing available to real life. To receive HD programming, you'll need a special HD receiver for your Dish Network system as well as the optional HD programming pak.

The Dish Network system also offers customized programming packages to suit your individual preferences. Movie and sport channels, music television and select Latino programming are just a few examples of the different ways you can customize your Dish Network experience.
