What type of signals will you receive?
DISH Satellite signals come directly from the broadcaster to your home. This means DISH offers the highest-quality, first generation signals available. 98% of all residences are capable of receiving high quality satellite television through DISH Network.
Digital Cable is not truly 100% digital. With digital cable, you receive a fourth or fifth generation signal. This means the signal isn’t transmitted directly from the broadcaster to your home, but is consecutively relayed from sub-station to sub-station before it ultimately reaches your television.
What programming packages are offered?
Cable programming packages vary according to your location. With a DISH Network satellite package, you receive the same programming nation-wide. Digital cable is capable of providing you with an equal number of video and audio channels that satellite provides; however, these channels are available only at a much higher cost.
What interactive features are available?
Although cable providers are now offering electronic programming guides similar to those provided by satellite TV, Dish Network offers the added functionality of Digital Video Recording (DVR). With Dish DVR, an integrated satellite receiver, viewers can pause, rewind, and record live TV for later viewing. This added convenience is unobtainable through cable services.
What bundled communications packages are available?
Some cable providers now offer communication packages that include television, internet and video services. Satellite companies such as Dish Network stick to their core competencies and focus only on providing viewers with great TV at a competitive price.
Is high definition television (HDTV) available?
Cable providers have not been able to consistently deliver high definition television to viewers. With satellite television, you receive 100% digital, crystal clear, high definition programming at all times. |
